God's Plans

A couple of years ago, Bill and I had taken over the children's ministry at a small church we attended at the time. It was an area that needed help in many ways and to be "churched" was one of them. Each week we had 20+ kids and fell in love with all of them. We so enjoyed Wednesday nights and always looked forward to them and we both spent much time in preparation.

Unfortunately, we had a disagreement with the Pastor and his wife--who had told us to "run the show" and "we will not interfere"--and the hard words and hurt feelings could not be smoothed over and we decided it would be better for us to move on. We had already been studying with a bible class and decided to start to attend all 3 meetings a week. Leaving our "kids" had been heart-breaking and so hard, but we really began to grow and have learned so much where we are now.

We recently ran across an article written by the Pastor at the old church and were amazed at some of the things he seemed to believe and I guess he is now teaching at that church. Some of his points were shocking and he gave no scripture to back up his opinions.

The more we discussed it over the course of the weekend, the more we realized that God has put us right where we need to be. We have grown and learned so much and could have ended up in real trouble if we had stayed where we had been. God's plan was the right one--even if we couldn't see it at the time!
